Key-words!

Kia ora! this morning our literacy class had to write key-words, the yr 8's had to write key-words from camp that they had went to on last week!, Me, Jasmine, Tori have figured out some key-words, Here is our poster filled with many key-words that we have came up with.

Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bula , and Greetings to you all! My name is Luisa, I go to  Pt England School I am a Yr 8, now a leader of Pt England School!   I am from the Island of Tonga!, I am currently living in Auckland, New Zealand. I am 11 yrs old turning 12 in March, I am from a family of 4 and I am the youngest sibling.

What are the things I like/love to do you may ask? The things I certainly love to do is spend time with my family! Because it's a lot fun when family members are together. One of my favourite moments with my family is going to the beach on a sunny day! I also love spending time with friends and teachers. The things I like to do whenever I get kinda bored is to do hand-craft. I love sharing my culture and love to learn other cultures as well like , Samoan , Spanish and many more. I love collecting different kinds of things like shells at the beach and making necklaces and bracelets! I am also a food lover! Some of my favourite fast foods are KFC, McDonalds.

Time for goals! My goals for 2021 are to at least level up 3x for literacy and level up 3x for maths !

Art alive Expo!

 

This afternoon the whole of Pt England student  went to walk around the whole of Pt England to look at some art one of my favourite ones is this , this is about protesters that protest for things like the BLM which stands for Black lives matter and many other things people protest for.

 The reason why this was my favourite master piece was because this tells other people that there is no difference between black and white people and are telling them that they are equal.

It was also my favourite because it was really creative and was really awesome to see it in  the team 5 block.

 Dear Dominion construction, I would like to say thank you for spending your time preparing books for us to read during our spear time, I would also like to thank you for giving it for free and its really amazing to have these to take with us home!

For this weeks reading, I am learning a new article from Kiwi kids news, what I am reading is the worlds smallest boat which is probably smaller than a tip of hair, the article was very interesting to read.

For todays math work , we have been learning about probability and learning about degrees, this was really interesting learning about probability.

Task description: This weeks math work is about algebra, this presentation here is different kind of patterns which we have to work out how many triangles there are, here is my presentation of me showing the answers!

Plastic pollution !

              Plastic pollution.  

Introduction:  For this topic I’ll be writing about plastic pollution which is basically just particles and pieces of rubbish that have been in the ocean killing many sea animals.

Info 1:  Plastic pollution.

Pieces and particles of plastic have been floating around in the middle of the ocean , which means that people have not been recycling plastic, heaps of plastic have been thrown into the water killing many sea creatures/animals not only there killing animals there also doing harm to the harm 

info 2:  when this started to happen.

This started happening in the early 1960’s, it was first noticed by scientists. Day by day it got better weeks by week. It then got worse , a lot of plastic has been found in the ocean which means people haven’t been recycling. Plastic has now been swished away from the beach onto the sand creating big piles of plastic/rubbish.

Info 3:  When it all started to get better.

This all started to go down when people didn't really use plastic , they started using card board bags , metal straws and many more things that weren't made out of plastic.

Task Description: For this reading task I have learned many things from the book "Te Horeta" this is a book that was based off a nail given by James cook, Horeta used the nail for many other thing, I found this story really interesting!

Task Description: For todays te reo task  I have learned to say different colours in maori which is on this poster, a new colour I have learned was "Mawhero" which is pink since Ma is white and whero is red which makes the colour pink, I have also learned some other fun colours.
