Art alive Expo!

 

This afternoon the whole of Pt England student  went to walk around the whole of Pt England to look at some art one of my favourite ones is this , this is about protesters that protest for things like the BLM which stands for Black lives matter and many other things people protest for.

 The reason why this was my favourite master piece was because this tells other people that there is no difference between black and white people and are telling them that they are equal.

It was also my favourite because it was really creative and was really awesome to see it in  the team 5 block.

Introduction:  For this topic I’ll be writing about plastic pollution which is basically just particles and pieces of rubbish that have been in the ocean killing many sea animals.

Info 1:  Plastic pollution.

Pieces and particles of plastic have been floating around in the middle of the ocean , which means that people have not been recycling plastic, heaps of plastic have been thrown into the water killing many sea creatures/animals not only there killing animals there also doing harm to the harm 

info 2:  when this started to happen.

This started happening in the early 1960’s, it was first noticed by scientists. Day by day it got better weeks by week. It then got worse , a lot of plastic has been found in the ocean which means people haven’t been recycling. Plastic has now been swished away from the beach onto the sand creating big piles of plastic/rubbish.

Info 3:  When it all started to get better.

This all started to go down when people didn't really use plastic , they started using card board bags , metal straws and many more things that weren't made out of plastic.

Conclusion:

Task Description: For this taha wairua task  room 3 and I have learned new things in Maori, these are some of the things I have learned, we've learned these words in te reo. What are some of the things you've learned in Maori? 

Maori language week moment.

 In 1972 there were 30,000 signatures were delivered to parliament  safe guard (Protect)  the Maori language. 

Here are my reason's why I think it needed to be protected!

1. The reason why I think it needed to be protected is so that people from different cities/countries dont do violent things in New Zealand and try to break rules.

2. Another reason why I think it needs protection is so that people know to not do anything violent and to make sure to keep the language alive. 

3. It needs to be protected so that in the future the Maori language/ Te Reo is still alive and people will learn different things .

 A compound ~>  it's just basically a sentence in a sort of mixture in every sentence they would have an Action/subject.
SO for example we would use the sentence “I am *sitting* at the table *writing” the Bullet points are the subject/action which one do you think is the action or the subject?

The reason why Writing is an action is because you're actually doing something while sitting is a Subject because you don't need to do anything!

Totara Tree!

Araiteuru (Female Taniwha)

Araiteuru.

Araiteuru is the mother/female taniwha, she is also known as the sea guardian she is also JUST the female taniwha that protects/guards the sea she used to guard the *Hokianga Harbour* but then she suddenly stopped. She also lived at the south Harbour but went somewhere else in the north harbour, and her Companion is some of Niua. 
She is also known to having Eleven kids that are exploring.

Yr 7 Next yr!

Yr 7 & Yr 8 Highlights

Today the Yr 7 & Yr 8 talked about some highlights of thiers!


Yr 8 highlights from camp: There highlights were about activities, and some scary things at night time. One of their highlights were when they were communicating with each-other and getting high expectation, one them also talked about how they were scared at night time because one of there room-mates said that there was a ghost.

Yr 7 Highlights (Step up): One of there highlights were when they were one of the prefects and also stepping up and being leaders to the school & also Growing Respect and Good manners, one of there highlights were also about the food/shared lunch because it was BIG and everything was so Delicious.

Yr 7 Step Up Programme 2020

Last wensday there was a special meeting going on for the yr 8's in the hall because it was there time to go CAMP! while they were there at there meeting the teachers were putting there baggage into the bus so it would be ready faster and being able to go faster and easier. the yr 7's were all ready to go to class, we also said our last goodbye's to them.

All the yr 7's did really FUN activities like : Stacking cups, cookie challenge , Sing it out, and much more.   

There were also teams/ team names, Mrs Moala's class who were group 3 ( Team Thunder) Mrs Tipene who was group 1  ( Duck life )  Mrs Ilaoa who was group 2 ( Team Strikers ) Each team had there chant ready and looks like strikers had the best one yet!

We all had competition and each teacher had to find out who's Team was the most supporting, good manners, Teamwork and the most points !

The team had thos things support, good manners, and teamwork, they were also the WINNING team, they were...... TEAM THUNDER!!

Team thunder won by (3410 Points) They got Sweet Candy to share with each other and had a good time.

On Friday it was the last day of Fun activities, we all had a BIG shared lunch full of goodies, Junk and much more!

B.f in Aus, K.b Gigi’s death, Protesting, worldwide pandemic, George floyds death, Black lives matter protest in the whole U.S.A Paris, Nz, and many more cities/countries that are protesting for BLM, they are also fighting Trump supporters.K.B and G.F death: Kobe Bryant’s death with his daughter Gianna were going to Gianna’s game with other people as well in a private jet, something went terribly wrong during this flight, the pilot seemed to didn’t take control and a crash decided to happen, George floyds death was at a shop and the police were called and he was arrested but something really shocking was about to happen.. The police decided to put his KNEE on his Neck for 10 minutes, George Floyd was telling the police that he wasn’t breathing, after that he was officially dead a day after the BLM protest was starting to happen. On March there was news about the new disease called “Coronavirus” in china, Week by week coronavirus was spreading around the world but Nz was safe, many people like THOUSANDS of people started to die, and then it was finally announced that coronavirus was in nz, we got news from our prime minister that we are going on to lockdown starting from level 4 down to level 1 or 0, this disease started to become the worldwide pandemic. During George floyds death there were people Protesting for the BLM, many people began to make their own signs for the BLM protest and started to protest with many other people. Many people then began to make signs and protest in every other cities/counties like , Paris and many other more.

3 GOALS this term and why I chose them !

-My first goal is to do an upgrade in reading and to level up so that I can achieve where I want to be !



-Another goal is to learn new things at home before I go Literacy !



-My last but not least GOAL is to get in higher levels in Writing !

Malo e lelei My name is Luisa and today I  will be telling you about what happened last week friday. Last week friday it was Matariki day, Matariki represents the 7 stars which is (Tupu a nuku, Tupu a rangi, waiti, waita , waipuna rangi , and last but not least Urangi, for matariki all of Pt England students were in groups, the group I was in was ( Cooking & Craft ) 2 people helped cooking with Mrs Tele’a, The people that were doing the craft were in groups of 6/7 decorating stars and many more to come. 2 of my FAVOURITE highlights was when we had to decorate our tables, we were decorating our tables so when we go eat our table is nice, decorated, & clean, 1 of my other highlights is when we all gpt to sit on our tables, sing, do our prayer , eat. ( What is Matariki?) Matariki is not only about the 7 stars it is also about celebrating the Maori new year some people say its bad if you don't see the 7 sisters in the sky.

Solution: They found each other but.....

 Once upon a time there was a Girl named Zoe, Lani & Luisa the youngest out of them, Once they were in Tokyo Japan going for a tour and a look around, They were once going to get a drink until Luisa saw this Mysterious forest that looked really dark and scary, while they were getting their drinks Luisa decided that it would be cool/fun to go in the forest without letting Lani or Zoe know, once Zoe and Lani got there drinks they soon noticed that something was wrong...Luisa had gone into the forest alone.. Zoe and Lani didn’t know what to do but ask  anyone of where she had gone, meanwhile while Luisa has gone in the forest she soon became terrified and lost but she just kept on walking knowing she would find the way out of the forest but it was a dead end so she gave up, just sat down waiting for help, there was only one thing she had with her it was her phone so she got it out as quick as she could and tried to call Lani, Lani got the call picked it up and said that she was going to the forest both her and Zoe went into the forest, they were running like there was food on the table waiting for them, they soon got lost as well but at least they were both together, Zoe suggested that it would be better if they go separate ways.

Lani suggested it would be better to stay together or go the same ways but they had no idea so they just went with Zoe's idea as soon as they both went separate ways lani got her laptop out and said a good-bye message to her family since she thought it was her last day.

Zoe thought it was a bit funny but she kept on running and lani told zoe to be quiet and she kept on running as soon as they stopped running they found luisa and found each other they also found this REALLY HUMONGOUS TREE with lights around it but they got help from a group of policemen in a helicopter… TO BE CONTINUED

Our physical bodies need to stay fit,clean, and healthy.

Our families and homes are where we learn the basic BUT important steps for this for this.

Being Grateful Means when you receive something from you parents or a friend, like a present or letter with something inside it, be GRATEFUL. Me and Team 5 are getting ready to go to assembly as usual and sitting down like normal, as we sit down something looked a bit different, this was a REALLY Surprising/shocking Assembly may we introduce you....Joseph Parker!!, Joseph Parker is an Famous New Zealand Boxer, Once everything began all of us were so Excited! We had our Prayer/Mihi as normal and we got to have Joseph Parker play a guitar for us which was really Nice to hear, AS soon as he finished we applauded and he soon told us 2 things which were Really important to him, those 2 things were (Believe in yourself) (Nothing beats hard work!) If there was something I could ask him Questions like (Was Boxing hard for you?) or (How did you BECOME a Boxer?)  I would also like to send him a Thank you Message. I would like to Thank you  for Coming to see us and appreciating us as well, Hopefully you have a blessing day and wish you the best for your boxing Competition!

Genius Hour@ PES

Today we learned about how the Google company allows their workers to use 20% of their working hours to work on a passion they have.  This is known as 'Genius Hour'. As you can see our class had made this list on the board of what they are studying about or learning, we will be working on these in the weeks and coming up with our own 'Genius Hour'. I am very Excited to learn/start this project!!!

Yesterday me and my math group sat down on the mat because we were gonna do some Dmic in my math group was Mele ,  Lani,Zoe and me,  then our maths teacher Mrs Tele'a put up a problem solving problem up on the tv, she started explaining to us what to do, something was wrong because the answers were already on but we had to work it out to see if it was the correct answer or the wrong answer. Me and my group worked it out and it was correct.

Hi my name is Luisa and today I will be writing about my life starting when I was in daycare when I was probably about 3 yrs old, when I was in daycare my daycare  was about right across the shops. When I first started daycare I didn’t want to go, I started crying, and it was really nerve racking since it was my first day so I just had to get used to it, after days I started to get used to it and I would run off to go play with my new friends, days after I stayed home because I was about to start kindergarten at the age of 4 yrs old  so I probably stayed for one week, after one week I finally started kindergarten so I had to buy a bag and also buy a lunchbox. When I arrived I was pretty excited since there were a lot of toys,there was a park,and I even saw cooking ingredients that were on a small table.



After days I started to get used to it because there were alot of kids and some of them would welcome me, when I was in kindergarten I would start making more friends and my favourite thing in kindergarten was to cook with the teacher and cook with other people as well, whenever we're done we all sit on the floor and my teacher would pass out the food that we made and we would all eat it together. When it was march I was really excited because my birthday was coming up, after days it was my birthday and My mum and my brother came bc I was having my birthday in kindergarten, I was sitting on a chair with a crown on my head, I was 5 and I had to move to a primary school, My primary school was called Pt England school and that's when My life started to begin.


Hi My name is Luisa and I am now a yr 7 and I am now 10 yrs old, about to turn 11!

My Family Hero!

My family hero is my Grandma and the reason why she is my family hero is because she helps us get through hard things and she even makes things better and better for us. She would always have the power to make us feel happy and also feel enjoyable too. At nights we sometimes do a family meeting like a normal one so everyone would have to stop what they are doing and come sit on the floor,for a family meeting my grandma talks first,we sing, and when it is finished we kind of just talk about funny things or funny moments we remember and just laugh, while others just kind of just go back to what they were doing.

The other reason she is my Family Hero is because she would always give other people a helping hand,she supports other people, she always cheers other people up, and she is the one who would always calm us down.She was always my family hero and even in the beginning.

Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Bonjour, Greetings! My name is Luisa, I am 10 years old and I’m about to turn 11 years old which is really exciting.I go to Pt England school and I am a year 7. My beautiful home teacher is Mrs Stone and my other amazing teachers are Mrs Moala, Mrs Tele’a, Miss Tapuke, Whaea Kelly,Mrs Ilaoa.

I am full tongan and love to share my culture with other people to know me really well and I also love to learn new languages like spanish, fiji, just like to experience other things that are new to me.

What I want to be in the future, what I want to be in the future is a traveller, so I can travel around the world to experience new things that I haven’t seen as well. I also want to travel to America,Mexico, Hawaii, Korea, and many other places as well. What I also want to be in the future is a teacher so I can teach other kids some learning and be able to be welcoming them as well.

Goals here we come :0, for my goals this year I would like to make more progress on reading since it's really important for the year 7&8, my other goals are to level up as well. My favourite subjects in school are Reading, writing, literacy and math even though I struggle a lot.
